How to Cancel a Delta Air Lines Flight ☎️716-351-6210📞

It is simple to cancel or change your flight prior to departure on delta.com in just a few easy steps.

We understand that your plans may change. Enjoy more peace of mind with no change fees when you purchase Main Cabin or above tickets on flights originating from North America. With no change fees, you have the flexibility to change the date, time or location of your trip prior to departure. When changing your ticket, sometimes your new flight may cost more than your original flight. If this happens you would need to pay the difference in price to change your ticket.

As a reminder, Basic Economy tickets are not changeable. However, for Basic Economy tickets departing on or after January 1, 2022, you may cancel before departure and receive an eCredit minus a cancellation charge and apply any remaining value towards a future Delta ticket.* For more information on our Basic Economy cancellation policy click here.

If you need to change or cancel your trip with Delta Vacations, we recommend reviewing their change and cancellation policies.

Step 1: Find Your Confirmation Number

You can use the confirmation number from your original booking to search for your trip on delta.com.

In Your Email Inbox

Search for “Your Flight Receipt” and locate the email that applies to the trip you want to change or cancel.

You will find your confirmation number in the top section of the email, just below the Delta logo and your name.

Step 2: Find Your Trip

Go to  My Trips  and locate your trip using your name and confirmation number, credit/debit card number, or ticket number from your Flight Receipt email.

Step 3: Modify Your Flight

Once you have located your trip, on the Trip Details page, click the "Modify Flight" button. Select whether you would like to start a flight change or flight cancellation. From there you will be taken step-by-step through options for changing or canceling your flights. Rest assured, no changes or cancellations will be final until confirmation. Change fees will be waived for eligible tickets.

Step 4: Begin the Flight Change or Cancellation Process

Change a Flight

Once you have selected “Start Flight Change,” you can choose the flights you would like to change and view new flight options. The value of the original flight will be applied toward the cost of the new ticket. You will see this credit reflected in the final amount due before you complete the change and view your confirmation.

If your new flight costs less than your original flight, the difference would be issued to you as a Delta eCredit. If your new flight costs more than your original flight, you would need to pay the difference in price to change your ticket.

Cancel a Flight

Once you have selected “Start Flight Cancellation,” you will be taken through the cancellation process. Before the cancellation is final, you will have the opportunity to check your flight details and confirm that you would like to cancel.

You will be issued either a Delta eCredit or a refund to the original form of payment depending on your ticket type and circumstances of cancellation.* In some situations, you will be issued an eTicket.

For more information about accessing and using available eCredits, go to How to Rebook Using an eCredit.

A cancellation charge will apply for Basic Economy tickets in most cases and will be deducted from the eCredit value. Excludes tickets issued for travel originating in Mexico, which cannot be canceled or changed. For tickets issued for travel originating in Korea, tickets will be refunded to original form of payment after deducting the cancellation charge. For tickets issued for travel originating in Europe, the cancellation charge is €150. For tickets issued for travel originating in Africa, Middle East and India, the cancellation charge is $199.
